Traditionally, the nutritional interest in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cystic fibrosis and lung cancer has been on management of weight loss and muscle wasting (cachexia) in advanced disease stages. However, obesity has now been identified as a risk factor across all respiratory diseases.
